Dr Tom Almeroth-Williams is a social historian of 18th- and early 19th-century Britain. He published his first book 'City of Beasts: How Animals Shaped Georgian London' in 2019. Tom was awarded a PhD by the University of York in 2014 and remains a Research Associate of its Centre for 18th-Century Studies. In addition to human–animal interactions, he’s particularly interested in urban life and the world of work in Georgian Britain.
