Quietly adding features

Or, not so quietly, because I’m telling you right here.

  • You can now manage your own collections on a new My collections page.
  • You can add a description to your collections (on the My collections page).
  • Descriptions for collections, as well as for books, and contributors, are available on the map with their connected viewpoints.
  • You can now explicitly set the featured image for a viewpoint. (Previously, the last image you uploaded to a viewpoint became the featured image.)
  • You can now add up to three links to a viewpoint.
  • We’ve ditched all social media logins.
  • We’ve brought back the viewpoint RSS feed. (And you can also subscribe to the RSS feed of the blog.)
  • We’re on Mastodon, and we’re posting new viewpoints to Mastodon and Twitter.
  • Collections can now be featured. Featured collections show up when pressing ‘Places’ in the footer menu.
  • New viewpoints (identified with a green six-pointed star) are now also identified as new by their marker, on maps, with the same star.
  • Contributors can now sign up, and unsubscribe, from the Placecloud creators mailing, on their profile page.
  • You can now set the language of the viewpoint you are submitting. And, you can mark your viewpoints as translations of other viewpoints you’ve submitted.
  • We are now surfacing recent contributors. Tap the ‘people’ icon in the menu at the bottom of the main interface.
  • We’ve updated the look-and-feel of the audio player.

How does this work?
